What is your favourite sub genre for horror films?
This question was beneficial to us as we could determine which horror sub genres were most liked and watched- this meant that we could decide on which sub genre to associate with our horror with. Many of our results came back as paranormal, so we decided to do a horror with paranormal activity.
What was the last horror film you watched?
The reasoning behind this question is simple, knowing what people are watching at the moment give us an idea about which genres and types of horror films are popular and fresh on the market at the moment, usually this would enable distribution and production companies to find the holes in the market and benefit from eliminating potential competition.
How many horror films do you own?
This can be useful to find out whether it would be better to sell dvd's or put it online- or even both. Since online services have made an appearance there are very few people that buy dvd's.
What would be the best setting for a horror film?
The setting for a horror film is very important, the setting is one of the principal factors that make a horror what it is, we asked this question in order to evaluate all the different locations and then decide on the one that will make our horror the most effective. Furthermore, many people have different views and feelings on different locations, this question allows us to pin point the favourited location and the least favoured- this means we can either replicate the amazing/favourited location to ensure a good setting or we could do the unexpected and do something nobody has done before- eliminating any competition.
What weapon would you least want to be killed with and why?
When it comes to weapons within horror films there is a gigantic variety- this makes it hard to make the decision as to which one to choose- by asking people what they would dislike being killed by in real life could maybe benefit us by informing us on the weapons that people fear the most being killed by; this way people who like the paranormal subgenre and like certain weapons to go with it can point us in the right direction. It's very effective to ask it for a real life situation as you actually get a genuine response which will be useful when the weapon is later on used in the horror.
Which is scarier? Jump scares, or gore?
Jump scares and gore are very big factors in horror films, it is important to have the audience's opinion on this matter as you do not want to over do either one of them, over doing jump scares
